Homeowner Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program

Program Summary

The Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program is designed to assist lower income homeowners in upgrading their homes to make them safer and more comfortable.  Priority is placed on the types of rehabilitation needed to make the home safe and to prevent further deterioration of the home.  Typical examples of these high-priority projects include new roofs, new windows, new electrical wiring, heating system repair/replacement, etc.  Loans of up to $25,000 are issued to homeowners that carry interest rates of either zero interest or 2% interest, depending on the income level of the owner.

This program is operated through the Yamhill County Affordable Housing Corporation (YCAHC), a nonprofit that receives grants from the State of Oregon.  As loans are repaid to YCAHC, the funds are placed in a revolving loan fund and loaned out again on a perpetual basis.  The program extends to every part of Yamhill County.

Currently, there are approximately 180 Rehab loans outstanding.  Approximately 34 new loans are in progress.  Funds are currently available for new loans.
