Post-Secondary Education
VIDA program participants can save for the costs of college level or vocational education. The money can be used for specific purposes including tuition, books, fees, and required equipment for program completion. It is important for participants to work closely with their VIDA coordinator to determine the best use for this money, as the expenses must be pre-approved; we cannot reimburse previously paid
expenses.
Participants are required to complete the Financial Literacy class along with individual asset specific training; this will be developed by the VIDA Coordinator and participant, and must be a minimum of 6 hours total training time.
In addition, Post-Secondary Education participants have the option to enroll in the "Save and Spend" plan where they can access their funds annually rather than waiting the full three years to begin their education. The maximum match allowed for Post-Secondary Education is $9,000.00.
