This is the top of the page that shows on all of the pages on this website other than on PDF files. This header has five small pictures and a logo for the Housing Authority. Oregon State law charges the Housing Authority of Yamhill County (HAYC) with developing affordable housing opportunities for residents with incomes below 80% of the area median. HAYC development efforts focus on both preserving existing affordable housing projects in the County and on building new projects to serve the expanding population in the County.

In 2010 HAYC purchased 3.25 acres of land with a historic house just north of downtown Newberg. The Newberg City Council voted to rezone this Deskins Commons property for multifamily housing in February of 2011.   HAYC is presently looking into the best way to use this property to expand affordable housing opportunities in Newberg, something a recent City task force identified as an important need.
