Public Housing

The Low Rent Public Housing Program

Low Rent Public Housing is housing that the Housing Authority owns and manages directly. We have 70 units of public housing on scattered sites in both Newberg and McMinnville. Most of our public housing units are two and three-bedroom duplexes, with a few single-family homes. These units are rented to low-income families, with rents based on 30% of the household income. The program is federally funded by HUD.

Since the Housing Authority is acting as the landlord for public housing units, we take on landlord responsibilities including tenant screening, maintenance, and rent collection. Our public housing program has provided affordable, scattered-site housing in neighborhood settings for over 20 years.
