Special Needs Housing
The Housing Authority of Yamhill County currently owns and manages several housing complexes targeted for special needs populations.
Bridges
A private mortgage and a grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank provided financing for Bridges, a six-unit, special needs apartment complex located in McMinnville for persons with serious and persistent mental illness. Bridges tenants are selected by the Yamhill County Mental Health Department and their staff members provide support services for residents.
Homeport
Homeport provides special needs housing for developmentally disabled persons and persons with serious and persistent mental illness. The 12-unit complex in McMinnville opened in July of 1996. It was financed by a combination of loans and grants from the State of Oregon. Case management is provided by Yamhill County Mental Health Department.
Sunnyside
Construction was completed in the spring of 2004 on a new alcohol and drug free 15-unit apartment community for persons with serious and persistent mental illness, 14 one-bedroom units and one two-bedroom unit in McMinnville. Sunnyside is run in conjunction with support services from Yamhill County Adult Mental Health Department.
Hendricks Place
Hendricks Place is an 8-unit apartment community for developmentally disabled individuals that was completed in July 2005. All eight units are one-bedroom units and Hendricks Place is run in conjunction with support services oversight from Families United for Independent Living (FUFIL).
