Workforce/Family Housing

We own and operate several properties throughout the county which provide affordable rental housing for income-eligible families. Unlike our public housing units, these properties were developed with a variety of financial tools such as tax credits and construction grants, but operate without on-going subsidies from HUD.

In early 1994 we opened our first affordable housing development (serving households between 50 and 80 percent of median income). Located in McMinnville, this 88-unit apartment complex has 60 two-bedroom and 28 three-bedroom units. Tice Park was financed by our offering of revenue bonds.

In 1996 we expanded our affordable housing inventory with the purchase of Silverado Inn in Newberg. Renamed Woodside Park, this complex provides 84 two-bedroom units in Yamhill County's second largest city. Like Tice Park, this complex was financed through revenue bonds.

In 1999, we acquired Haworth Terrace Apartments in Newberg. This 38-unit complex has 18 one-bedroom units and 20 two-bedroom units. Rents are kept affordable due to funding received from the State of Oregon.

In February 2006 the Housing Authority opened Sunflower Park Apartments which is a 33-unit, multi-family apartment complex consisting of 15 2-bedroom apartments and 18 3-bedroom apartments. Funding for Sunflower Park comes through Oregon Housing & Community Services.
