Family Self-Sufficiency

The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program is a voluntary program for residents of the Housing Authority's Section 8 Rental Assistance Program. It is designed to help families become financially independent of welfare systems and to become economically self-sufficient.

It is an opportunity to improve your financial situation.

It is a program that puts cash into an escrow account for your family.

It can help you if you are:

  • Unemployed

  • Going to School

  • Already Working But Want to Raise Your Income

The FSS Coordinator will provide you with the guidance, resources and support necessary for you to create long term plans for employment or training.

FSS can empower families to take control of their own lives.
